Emily was born and raised in Fredericton, New Brunswick and considers Wolfville, Nova Scotia, one of her second homes as she graduated from Acadia University in 2017. During her time at Acadia, she was a member of the Women’s Varsity Basketball Program from 2013 to 2017 and enriched her time with other volunteer pursuits as a student. Emily currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Acadia Alumni Association and cherishes staying connected to the Acadia community.
From the time she was young Emily dreamed of pursuing a career in law and in 2021 she was the third member of her family to graduate from the University of New Brunswick Faculty of Law. Since being called to the New Brunswick Bar in 2022, she has cultivated a practice in the areas of Family Law, Wills and Estates Law and Real Property. In her practice, Emily encourages clients to engage in early, organized and efficient Estate planning to ensure that their loved ones have as much peace of mind as possible during difficult times. She brings the same pragmatism to her work in the family law space.
Emily is passionate about making the legal community a better place both for lawyers and clients. She is the Canadian Bar Association (New Brunswick Chapter) Family Law Section Chair, the President of the York Sunbury Law Society, and a regular volunteer with the Canadian Bar Association Mid-Winter Committee, which is an annual event dedicated to improving continued learning for practitioners in the New Brunswick legal community. As a lifetime learner, she is dedicated to keeping up with current trends and changes in family law and ensuring continued learning sessions for the New Brunswick Bar are current, relevant, and practical.
Outside of the office and her volunteer pursuits, Emily spends as much time on the golf course in the summer (Fredericton Golf Club) and the ski hill in the winter (Crabbe Mountain). Emily and her partner Craig are settled in Fredericton close by her parents and close-knit group of friends. She can be found around town running, going to Pilates, and enjoying everything downtown Fredericton has to offer.
