Tiffany Mackay French

Tiffany Mackay French was called to the New Brunswick Bar in January 2016. She was elected to Rothesay Town Council later the same year. She holds degrees in Fine Arts, Education, and Law. She is currently undertaking her Masters in Law (specializing in Dispute Resolution) from which she will graduate in the spring of 2020. In the past, Tiffany has worked in publishing and as a high school teacher. She is currently working as a family lawyer (specializing in mediation and collaborative practice) and as a Rothesay town councillor. Her employment experience has been varied: this has given Tiffany the ability to address complex situations from a variety of perspectives—envisioning multiple approaches toward the arrival at a positive outcome.

Tiffany brings her skills to Carleton Law Group. She is a strong believer in a process of resolution outside the court room: a process that respects the family’s values and interests through a difficult time. This careful approach protects the important relationships that must exist long after a divorce. Tiffany believes that entering a dispute with maturity and empathy is the most effective approach for achieving a resolution that works for all parties.

As the New Brunswick Branch Chair of the Canadian Bar Association’s Women Lawyers Forum, Tiffany represents New Brunswick for this progressive and groundbreaking national assembly. She is a member in good standing of the New Brunswick Law Society, the Canadian Bar Association, the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, and the Advocates’ Society of Canada. In addition, Tiffany was Chair of the Mayor’s Special Committee on Communication and Transparency: a committee created to address issues brought to light by her successful election campaign. She sits on the Kennebecasis Regional Joint Board of Police Commissioners, the Heritage Preservation Review Board, and the Personnel Committee for the Town of Rothesay. Tiffany is fluent in English and French.

As a contributor to her community, Tiffany fundraises for the New Brunswick Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, and works with respected local charities such as Romero House, to provide food and clothing for the less fortunate. She is an active parent volunteer for her sons’ three schools and hockey teams.

Tiffany lives in Rothesay, New Brunswick with her husband James, her three wonderful sons, Ky, Jack, and Chas, and their dog Elsa. They keep her life exciting, active—very often finding themselves in hockey rinks. Outside of work, Tiffany enjoys cooking, entertaining, and spending time with her family and friends.
